Nathan Brooks business papers, 1796-1864.

Business papers consist of materials generated by Brooks' legal practice in Concord and by his position in Middlesex Mutual Fire Insurance Co. Include: correspondence (1816-1864) from clients and others, much of it regarding Brooks' collection of bills on behalf of clients and also for his own services; bills and receipts (1796-1863), some personal, some related to collection of bills for clients; two account books (one for 1829, one 1836-1863); correspondence (1827-1852) to Brooks from policyholders and agents of Middlesex Mutual Fire Insurance Co. (Cont.) and records (waybills, bills, receipts, 1838-1839) of Boston, Lexington, and Concord Accommodation Stage (operated between Boston and Concord by William Shepherd, who used Brooks' services when he sold his share in the line in 1839).
